Sheesh. The weather goes bad and so do the internet connections. We dropped off the radar for two and half weeks because the connection to the server dropped every minute or so. In the end we just had to pull the plug. Sometimes it feels like the computers have it out for you. Ah, but we can always hit the power switch!

Testing
June 6th, 2008 · General
You may have figured this out already but we are in the middle of testing the shop that runs on this software platform. Clearly, you can’t buy anything yet. Soon, though, very soon. Your patience is appreciated.

Summer!
June 5th, 2008 · General, Intercoms
For some reason or another our invoices issued total always goes up during this time of year. We also have a spike in the winter for lost keys and frozen locks - lots of people drop their keys in the snow and well, we all know what ice does to locks.
Summer weather, however, does not do much to the locks but here in Chicago it sure wreaks havoc on wood doors. Humidity makes them warp and then the locks don’t line up very well. My gut feeling is that if we had a tracking flag (sorry, i call them flags for some reason but it just means a quick way of tracking something) for warped doors that would account for a fair amount of summer business.
The other thing that lots of buildings do during the summer is replace their intercom system. If I could manage to get everyone who is thinking of doing that in Chicago to give us a call I would be far too busy to handle it all but I am sure we could help a lot of people. You see, our competitors have some strange quirks - either they don’t install the electric strikes that actually secure the doors or they hack together things without door closers or a whole host of other oddities. I know its obvious that I would say we are the best at it but its true - we are! We can install every component of a complete system and repair a lot of systems that don’t need replacing. I can’t really prove it to you unless you meet us though so feel free to write contact at collierlockservice.com with questions or give us a call!
